How To Dance Cha Cha-It's A Ton Of Fun

If you have never attempted to try ballroom dancing, it may seem a little intimidating or stiff for a lot of people. If that's your perception, you need to rethink it because while there are some more formal dances, the Waltz comes to mind, there are plenty of styles of ballroom dance that are fast paced and a ton of fun. Learn how to dance cha cha and you will soon realize what we are talking about.

The Cha Cha has its roots in Latin style music and is very popular at clubs and social events. Now it is gaining in popularity and you will probably not be able to walk onto any dance floor in places like Miami without seeing the Cha Cha in one form or another. Like swing dancing, it is faster paced and just a lot of fun to do. More importantly, it is extremely easy to learn to dance Cha Cha.

The first thing you need to do is get in rhythm with the music. When you are feeling the beat, you and your partner are ready to go. While this is an explanation for the lead dancer, if you are following, you should know them as it is definitely advised to know where they are going to take you if you are just learning this dance. Start out by moving your left foot to the rear and left. Rock up on your left heel and move your right foot back. Move you right foot forward again and then pull the left foot up tight to it.

For your next Cha Cha move, you go to the right by moving your right foot forward and to the right. Rock your left heal and move your left foot forward. Step back with your right and then move your left foot back and bring the right foot over to it.

Guess what? You just did the Cha Cha! Some of the moves may have sounded a little confusing, but these are all just basic steps in ballroom dancing. Learn them all, and you can do any dance you want! Each style of dance has its own combination of moves, but they are all rooted in these basic steps.

It is always a little easier to figure this stuff out if you can actually see what you are being told to do. As live instruction can get a little expensive, so you may want to purchase some learn how to dance cha cha videos to help explain the moves in greater detail.

A good learn how to dance cha cha video will walk you through the same process, but you will actually be able to see the steps being performed and have better idea how to pull them off. Now it is only a matter of time before you dance partners standing in line to get their turn at dancing with the master!
